“Why should I pay $30 for an 8×10 from you when I can print one at Walmart for $2 or go to {insert chain studio name here} and pay a lot less?”
This is a common question the custom photographer is asked. I fully intended to write out my own explanations, but Professional Child Photographer has great resources for the portrait consumer. I urge everyone to read the information on this site. It really gives insight into the cost of custom photography (why it’s much more) and helps the consumer understand that when purchasing a single print you are not just paying for a piece of photo paper. You are paying for the photographer’s time, talent, editing skills, their operating costs, and much more, but most of all, you are paying for their art.
