I instructed them into a small clearing, and then backed up to frame the shot. As I was adjusting my camera settings I noticed both of them were frantically wiping at their jeans. It was then that I looked down and noticed that I was covered in “stick tights” from my waist to my toes! As were they! If you have never ran into these little things count yourself lucky! They do not just “wipe off” hence the nickname “stick tights.”

I suggested we go ahead and finish that location and pose, and then we spent the next 15-20+ minutes picking them off. I wasn’t worried about me, so I helped poor Nikki, who I’m sure wasn’t expecting to get that up close and personal! Needless to say, I was mortified and felt terrible! Here I am, just meeting this couple, and I stick them in a bazillion stick tights. It was a little hard to laugh then, but I hope you enjoy a little chuckle at our misfortune. And, in the future, I will be sure to look for these BEFORE sending clients into the weeds!

Lydia has quite the personality and be-bopped out of her room decked out in diva gear while we were calming Piper so I captured a few images of her in her pink shades and a few other props she brought out. We all had a great giggle watching her strut her stuff.

If you know me, you know that I love, absolutely L-O-V-E to photograph newborns. There is something about their wrinkly skin, and teeny tiny-ness that I just can not get enough of. I am moving forth with my dream to specialize in newborn and first year photography. I love meeting expectant moms (and dads!) for maternity sessions and then watching their little ones grow from the tiny bundles into toddlers as they turn the big “1!”

Last year I started over the Baby Steps Plan to make it easier for parent’s to capture the important milestones from before birth, the newborn stage, smiling at around 4 months, sitting up at 8 mths, and standing at one year. For the one year it is so much fun to add in the cake smash to celebrate their birthday.

It doesn’t stop there though! My bond with the family grows, and many of you have become great friends! So rest assured, I will still photograph families and children, as well as some senior and weddings. I love creating fun, fresh art of your family!
